Abstract Detail
Systematics Section / ASPT De Groot, Sarah [1]. Quantitative Morphology and Biogeography of Eriastrum Wooton & Standley (Polemoniaceae: Loeselieae). THE current taxonomy of Eriastrum does not account for a large part of the morphological variation present in the genus. This study aims to use primarily quantitative morphological techniques to discover and describe variation, and quantitatively characterize all distinct species and subspecies. Samples will be taken in the field from live plants throughout western North America, to avoid biases and difficulties of sampling from herbarium material. Preliminary results show that morphometric methods hold promise for distinguishing taxa. Log in to add this item to your schedule
